Our Futureville community includes a wide range of residents and households with unique needs and challenges. The City wants to hear from the community to develop a Gardening Plan so that our gardening strategies reflect all residents and are based on community members’ knowledge of Futureville’s strengths and challenges.
What is a Gardening Plan?
Futureville is creating a Gardening Action Plan to make sure a variety of housing is available and affordable for people of all incomes. The Plan will address current and future gardening needs. When complete, Futureville’s Gardening Action Plan will be a comprehensive tool that helps the City implement gardening policies, programs, and strategies.
Futureville’s Gardening Action Plan is:
An actionable policy document that outlines how to meet all of Futureville’s gardening needs.
Based on data and analysis vetted and grounded through an inclusive and robust public process.
A comprehensive approach to leverage resources and implement cohesive, effective, and feasible gardening strategies tailored to the Futureville community.
Tailored to the gardening needs of the Futureville community to ensure decent, safe, and abundant gardens for all.
Why is the city developing a Gardening Plan?
Food security is a high priority for Futureville residents and elected officials. While several gardening policies and programs are occurring in the City, there is a need for an updated coordinated gardening strategy.
