Our Futureville community includes a wide range of residents and households with unique needs and challenges. The City wants to hear from the community to develop a Gardening Plan so that our gardening strategies reflect all residents and are based on community members’ knowledge of Futureville’s strengths and challenges.

What is a Gardening Plan?

Futureville is creating a Gardening Action Plan to make sure a variety of housing is available and affordable for people of all incomes. The Plan will address current and future gardening needs. When complete, Futureville’s Gardening Action Plan will be a comprehensive tool that helps the City implement gardening policies, programs, and strategies.

Futureville’s Gardening Action Plan is:

• An actionable policy document that outlines how to meet all of Futureville’s gardening needs.
• Based on data and analysis vetted and grounded through an inclusive and robust public process.
• A comprehensive approach to leverage resources and implement cohesive, effective, and feasible gardening strategies tailored to the Futureville community.
• Tailored to the gardening needs of the Futureville community to ensure decent, safe, and abundant gardens for all.

Why is the city developing a Gardening Plan?

Food security is a high priority for Futureville residents and elected officials. While several gardening policies and programs are occurring in the City, there is a need for an updated coordinated gardening strategy.
